The Breakers

For class this week, we had to create images that went along to the theme of "The Great Gatsby." So, I decided to photograph The Breakers mansion in Newport, RI, that was once the Vanderbilt's summer cottage. 

Beavertail Lighthouse

My class assignment was to capture images that could symbolize hope in times of trouble. For me, lighthouses have always been a symbol of hope, and since hurricane Jose decided to come to New England during this assignment, I decided to take advantage of the weather. What better way to capture hope in times of trouble than a lighthouse in the midst of a storm? I plan to try out a few other local lighthouses, but for now, enjoy! :)
